Thats what I was thinking (getting hot) he's been trying to get through emmisions by retarding timing and leaning out the mixture. I thought I was going seing things I know my glasses work i just went to the eye doctor!

What could cause the gap to close up by about .010?? This is just a 260hp 350 GM crate engine brand new with a few hundred miles, still had points ignition gapped plugs at .035 then changed to electronic went to gap plugs to .045 and they were all about .025???? There is no obvious marks from contac...

I just bought a set of vortec heads to put on my 383check that i'm building. The stock valves in them are 1.94 int and 1.5 exh. The heavy cargo coils will lift the rear and the car might have too much rake making it harder to transfer weight. I would use what you have until you get to the track and do some testing. If you have nothing at all rear drag springs are available maybe try those.

Thanks guys, just figuring out the best cam for my build and set up. I've got a friend that races and he said the lunati bracket master 2 cam is a good cam. Its a 480 lift and 292 duration. FWIW on my old (really old) 454 advancing the cam 4* moved my peak power about 300 rpm lower. The cars 60 ft, et ,and mph was the same.
