Running the floats too high is a very common problem that I have alot when trouble shooting problems like this. Any more recent feed back on how your car is now doing?

Gus, At the top of the screen next to your name is a place where you can go to read messages sent to you. I think it will say you have 2 messages. Unless someone else has sent you a pm. Click on it and you should be able to figure it out from there. To send me a PM,...look at one of my posts. At the...

Re: Tuning questions before I hit the track
I'd bet those who bump their timing up that high aren't jetting their carbs up any at all. That's why they they are blowing their stuff up. Advancing timing is the same as leaning the carb, and retarding the timing is the same as fattening it up.

Re: Intake leaking water
What kind of sealer did you use on the head bolts? It's not all that uncommon for this to happen and is one of the reasons I will usually initially start the engine up with no water in it. Lets everything heat up and settle in a bit. It's only on for a few minutes. Usually enough to set timing and i...

Re: Carb tuning questions??
I don't like power valves myself actually. I don't even run them in my street stuff. If you decide to just take it out and run a block off in its place then just jet up from where your at about 10 jet sizes and tune from there. if you feel like you'd like to talk about this some on the phone, then P...

Re: Intake leaking water
I use a very light coat of silicone on both sides of the gasket and a thick enough bead on the end rails. I prefer the black, and usually don't like the ultra black. I have used the ultra with very good luck. But I just like how the regular black holds up. offer still stands on the phone call. Won't...

Re: Carb tuning questions??
Try locking the timing out, and running at it at 36° of timing. Did you look into the carb and try running the throttle all the way through it's motion? If so, while moving the throttle to wide open, did the fuel stop squirting into your carb? If so then you are running out of pump shot and it is ne...

Re: Intake leaking water
I'm not quite sure where the water is leaking from your intake and new heads. But I'll take a crack at a spot where I've seen them leak. What head manufacturer are you running? Which type are they? Where exactly is the water leaking from? On the side that it is leaking. Take out the bolts that are o...

What timing are you running?. Is it locked out or are you running any mech/vac advance. If so,...what is the initial, how much does the distributor advance, and when is it all in by?Craig W. wrote:I've also seen ignition timing effect this. You might try adding more initial advance.
