Yes and it works well. Just get a 14" installed hieght shock with a 130lb 12" spring and you'll be good.

Go with the TRZ. They are nice and light. The Globals are too heavy IMO.

Another problem is speed. --builds heat
Luckily I knew about the tire troubles before I bought my trailer, and got the 8000 lb axles and 16" wheels. I had friends blowing out a tire or 2 per trip. Did not matter if they where new or not.

I have one in the shop that I did just the way your talking about, but we put ladder bars on and removed the leaf springs so it may not clear the leafs. I'll look tomorrow and try to get you some pics.

The area you're from does dictate what you can charge and get away with. I get $2200 for 10 point Chrome moly and I getting ready to go up. Thats based on 35 hours at $50/hr plus Materials. There is not any real profit to speak of at this price, you're just getting paid for your time. I have friends...

When it comes to factory housings that have been on the road for a long time there is no telling what you will run into. I've seen them out pretty bad but not a quarter inch.

So between the ram and the channel iron base there is only 5" ? Or 5" between the two peices of channel iron that make up the base? If its the latter and your base can be lowered, it is just like mine. I built a support to hold the axle tubes at each end of the housing that also went acros...

I have put them in a press and then heated and pressed until they were aligned. Then I just left them in the press to cool. Good luck.
