Nitrous Solenoid Question, Edelbrock

Hey guys, You all probably don't know me, but I do post occasionally in the suspension section. I am in the process of biting the bullet and am installing an Edelbrock Perf RPM plate system on my Nova. Got it all wired and tested the solenoids with the fuel off and nitrous off just to make sure they...

So it sounds like it is possible to alter the IC by changing the height of the front spring mount. I did that on my Nova by installing 67-69 Camaro fron spring mounts. These move the front eye up into the body by about an inch. I have to admit though, when I did this, I was looking for a reduction i...

Yahoo!
Read your book several times over.

Favorite quote? "My only experience with slapper bars is when removing them from race cars"

Lots of folks now running 9's, and 8's on small tire leaf spring cars. Would love to hear your opinions about this.

Kelly, Interesting launch photo. I don't recall too many Novas looking like a Chevelle on the launch. It's doing what one would expect though......picking up the left front and burrying the right rear. All related to engine torque. (the front and rear of the car will do the opposite) My question wou...

It's always a good idea to cyt the upper a-arm bumpers for more travel. I have mine cut down to about 1/4 tall, just to keep the thing going metal to metal.
I think the bottom one should be left alone. Adds a cushion for those huge wheelies!

I agree, just cut what you have a bit more. 1/2 coil at a time. Or....if you live in a big city, you can have springs made. They would need to be just what you have but with a lower free height. Problem with cutting is they get stiffer with each cut. I also use the Moroso springs on my Nova, but it'...

If you can use one of their 3 sizes......

They make the best 9" radial slick on the market. But they are catering to the 16, and 17" sizes....and the 275x60...that not everyone can use.

Ron69SS, my tires, too are very grainy, I possibly may try the radial ply tire on the car. The only thing is the size - I really need the 10.5 - 29.5 Hoosier - it is a very good compromise with the 4.30 gear. Look into the Hoosier 10 x 30 radial. Check the section width, and if it fits, try it. My ...

I've got a 70 Nova - 540 BBC, glide w/ 5500 stall(8"), 4.30 gear(12 bolt), stock rplcmnt leafsprings(5 leafs instead of 4 - something about the steel not being as good now the company said), southside bars, 50/50 lakewood shocks(68 Camaro style) moved inboard of the springs using a Chassis Eng...

That is pretty impressive times. Are you running trans brake? What is the wieght on your car. Sounds like you have a well built motor. Nice work. :D Thanks man. It's a foot brake deal. I never really thought a trans brake would be a smart thing for a street car. Used to have one in my old Chevelle....

You think the tires are the major reason for the gains and not all that suspension work you did? It has to be both. Previous suspension setup was binding when the rear tried to seperate. Also, the converter change exaturated the suspension short comings. I needed to get the suspension working to re...

Which tires where you running before you put the Hoosiers on ? I was running 10x29 Hoosier bias plys...very soft compound. Grained like crazy, but they had over 100 passes. 60 fts were all over the place....from 1.48 to 1.70! So to now be in the high 1.3 range is amazing. With a smaller tire. It wo...
