69434, that's quick for a N/A SBC with conventional heads. Very impressive.

Re: Small tire vs Big tire

Someone around here is trying to get an OSCA vs OKC thing going. OSCA is the organization I race with. I guess everyone just wants to try to get on TV. I really don't like the idea of no-prep races. Great way to spend thousands of dollars in about 2 seconds.

Re: Impact and SFI update

Here's digging up an old thread...anyone seen the Mazda commercial with Bill Simpson in it? It touts him has some sort of safety hero. The general public won't know what happened with Impact but I remember. Makes me a little mad every time I see that commercial.

Re: MSD View & Review Update to version 4.1.23

Anyone want to buy my 7531? $550 for the box, $600 with HVC coil, not including shipping.

Re: Best Little Air Compressor for Trailer?

That's a big difference. Wonder if its not a piston pump? Maybe its a small screw compressor? Anything you can do to dampen the pulsation will reduce noise and vibration.

Re: What do you do to bed your brake pads in?

A little driving in the pits is about all we've got unless we do a few easy passes to heat cycle the pads closer to what Hawk suggests. But that wastes time, tires and engine life. So far I haven't had any issues with their pads standing up to the abuse I've given them.

Re: What do you do to bed your brake pads in?

My last set of new pads were bedded in at about 112 mph on a motor shot.

Re: Any ideas on getting rotor bolts loose?

Maybe it was the Strange calipers that have the square rings. I don't recall taking them apart but maybe I did.

Re: Any ideas on getting rotor bolts loose?

My Aerospace front calipers have square rings. Not sure about the Strange I have on the rear. I haven't had them apart.

Re: Any ideas on getting rotor bolts loose?

Are there differently shaped blocker rings for the pistons that'll help pull the pads back?

Re: Any ideas on getting rotor bolts loose?

You know they are high priced when they say it right on their website and don't list any prices. No need in me even calling. Zero drag would be nice though.

So what are ways to improve the pad retracting on Wilwood, Aerospace, Strange, etc calipers?

Re: Best Little Air Compressor for Trailer?

For track use, airing up tires, I'd think the HF stuff would be fine. You're not likely to actually run it all that much in the grand scheme of things.
