Re: Thanksgiving!
LOL,....I'm pretty lucky about my in-laws. They live right down the drive way, 1/4 mile away, and I only see them when I want to. They are very good people. Banged up the ribs by a second from the top rung of a ladder to a play house for the kids shearing off. Caught the top rung on my bottom 2 ribs...

Re: Ford 9 Inch ring and pinion
Because,...imo of course,...your shift points are too low and your trap rpm seems low also. I run stock cast cranks harder then you're running this thing. Even in circle tracks dirt scene. I'm not always correct by any means,..and I may tend to run the stuff I am involved with pretty hard,...but it ...

Re: Ford 9 Inch ring and pinion
Sounds like you need to find out what is in the lower end of your engine. If it would hold up to the rpm,...I'd stretch it out to at least 7k or so. I sti;; think you'll end up putting your old gears back in the long run. Need to revisit this question after you find out what is in the engine,...Carb...

Re: Off-season changes?
I'm freshening up 2 of my buddies engines, got to get a new rotating assembly for a Brobix -12 headed engine and get it back together,... buy parts for and put together a new Dart little chief 412 for a circle track friend. Looking forward to that build,...no money spent on it yet, so we will see ho...

Re: Ford 9 Inch ring and pinion
Hmmm,...well,...after thinking about this a bit more. You are running a 3 spd tranny as opposed to the glide. I'm not used to that myself as no one I know or have help uses a 3 spd tranny. Launch gear will be lower I guess. You are crossing the stripe at 6300 in the 1/8th or the 1/4? How much 1/4 do...

Re: Ford 9 Inch ring and pinion
imo,...you are not going to be happy with that gear. Like some one else in here has said in a lil' nicer way,.... you're basically idling across the line. You're running 14x32 tires??? I just think you are going to regret spending this money. :pissed: What does the lower end of your engine consist o...

Re: Leaf spring Question
What rear suspension traction aide are you running.... Myself, I would prefer a single leaf,...but I would probably do things a bit different than others would.

Re: Help with rear coil selection
Rear coil-over springs will fit the stock gbody spring buckets. If it were mine I would try a 12" 130- 150lbs or a 14"110-130lbs, depending on weight and the ride height you want. Malibu racing .com has a suspension tech section also. There is some good info here: http://www.maliburacing.c...

Re: Help with rear coil selection
imo,... go lighter and longer if possible. Only go heavier if the springs won't carry the load.

Re: Copper Gaskets
In the past I've ran them on a few builds. Myself I don't really like them. They cause more headaches then they cure. They do have their place. I doubtthat place would be on your build. jmo.

Chandler Indiana?... I used to race there all the time. Still go there every once in a while to help a buddy with his roundy car.

Re: What would cause this?
2 things come to mind for me.
How much piston to wall clearance do you have? How straight are the cylinder walls?
Could be a lean condition also.
