front shock recommendations?
Hi Guys, I'm looking to replace the old CE 3-way adjustable shocks on my 71 Nova. This is a stock suspension, small tire BBC car. Just upgraded to a Calvert 200lb split leaf and cal-trac bar setup for the rear suspension. With my old setup, (Landrum 275lb multi-leafs, CE slide-a-links and CE 3-way a...

Great looking Nova! Looks like it runs really hard. I love the silver with the dark strips. I've got a 71 Nova that I'm trying to get into the 8's as well this year. I live in CO so it's a bit tough up here on the 5800ft mountain to make the HP needed to run 8's in a 3600lb street car. My best ET so...

Trust me guys, your not the only people that have it bad! I'm dying out here in Colorado with all this snow. Most of the time when it snows here, it's gone in a couple of days and then it's nice again. With all the snow and cold we have had here the past three weeks, the snow is deep and the side st...

fogger and controller
Ok guys, after some additional research and recommendations, I'm leaning towards stepping up and putting a fogger with a progressive controller on the car. Who makes the best fogger kit? And for those of you using progressive controllers, any recommendations on those?

If you're wanting to spray that much then yeah you're probably going to need to use a multistage setup of some sort if you're using a conventional nitrous system. Most of the guys around here use a fogger and a plate on timers, but a number have started using a progressive in addition to the multis...

There's a number of different ways of getting where you want to go. Both of those plates are supposed to be pretty good, personally I like the Wilson the best myself but have not used either one. You could also experiment with a progressive controller with the single stage plate, or use one of the ...

Plate system suggestions....
Hey Guys, Looking for recommendations on a new nitrous plate system. I've got a small tire (28x10.5 ET drag), stock suspension 71 Nova. We race mostly heads up in Colorado where most days the density altidute is over 8000ft. The car has a 540ci BBC, T400 and 3.90 gear. I currently have a Nitrous Wor...

shock angle question
Hi Guys, I race in a local heads up class for small tire stock suspension cars. Right now there is a big debate about shock angle. The rules currently state that the shocks may be moved of tire clearence but must maintain the stock shock angle. Lately a few cars have been showing up with the shock i...

Thanks for the pictures John. That looks like a good idea. I'll have to look and see if I can figure out how to make something like that work with the factory steel bumpers and brackets. Where do you guys mount the shute release handle? Does it have to be attached to the cage? I was thinking of moun...

chute mounting on 71 Nova
Hi Guys - Thanks for your advise a couple of weeks ago on the window net stuff. I ran the car a couple of weeks ago and now it looks like it needs a chute. It ran 9.52 @ 147 and I had a tough time getting it slowed down to make the corner at the end of the shutdown area. So now I'm looking for advis...

Window net and welding question
Two question for you guys. First off, my car has a 4130 chromoly cage installed. I know it has to be TIG welded. That was all done by the shop that installed it so we are all good on that. I need to add a tab to the crossbar for the shoulder belts and a couple of tabs for the window net. Can I just ...
