Re: Testing on less-than-good tracks
Along with what John said...that Dave said, our track has a bit of time in the gaps between the upper rounds, so if I'm not in them I'm testing :) They have never had a problem with it. It's almost two hours to get to a track where I am at. That's why I stepped up the trailer so we can start getting...

Re: Lean Spike Coming up on the Brake
My car was acting like that a while back. I don't have all the fancy logging stuff...yet, but it was acting just as you said. After messing around with the carb I gave up and called the carb guy. He told me to double check my timing, I assured him it was where it needed to be. He assured me it was n...

Re: Good Weekend for Me.
Your alternator is spinning fast enough to charge I would imagine. When you get up in the RPMs does the voltmeter move up?
I don't think that is your flash speed, I think flash is the rpm it goes up to instant you smash the gas.

Glad to hear you're getting things sorted out.
Re: carb mod
That's what my carb guy said.
Re: carb mod
I did it to mine before I had my carb converted to E85. You gain 30 cfm, give or take. You might have to go one jet richer, but it really depends on what your car likes.

Re: I need to pick your brains....
1 1/2 turns is a starting point for Holleys but I'm not sure about Edelbrock. Old school way to set it is grab a rag and cover the top of the carb for a second or two. It should start to stall and when you pull the rag back up it should recover. If revs up it's too lean, if it dies it's too rich...I...

I say use the foam tape to put the louvers on...if you decide to. Then if you hate them no bigee, pull them off.
Oh we can read...we just aren't scared of Camaros.
My Nova dipped into the 10's with it's 402...so I would assume a camaro could do the same

Re: Dse wheel tubs purchaced
I run 28 X 10.5 on a 10" rim. I've also ran the same tire size on a 12" rim no problems with a minitub. I used to run a 29 X 12 on a 12" rim, that worked as well...but it was really tight between the frame and tire and tire to fender lip.

Transparent...I didn't think about that. I think this stuff http://www.eplastics.com/Plastic/Kydex is similar to the stuff I used from the sign shop. I wouldn't think he would pay that much a sheet though - $200 bucks, ouch. edit---here's some stuff for $50 bucks http://www.plasticsintl.com/polyprop...
