Re: looking for SBC advise

There are really no problems with the super vic. But on a 383 with 10.5 comp. There are better intake choices, like the vic. junior. The smaller runners on the Jr. will keep velocity up and help build ground pounding torque. Bob west's car is a fine example of how touque moves a car. And the zex pla...

That looks awesome! But, I dont think it will fit my vette. The A-Arms and crossmember are at the very front of the motor.

Re: Question on Hydraulic vs Mechanical Roller Cams

If it was me I would look at something with longer exhaust duration. And you said you wanted to spin it to 6800 rpm. Start with a .675int .650 exh lift with duration @.050 around 252 270 on the 114 lsa. Your blower motor will like the wide lsa and long exh duration. Remember your forcing air into th...

Re: more out of my motor

Do not use a factory 4-bolt block. Use a 2 bolt block only! The factory 4 bolt blocks tend to crack at the main webs.

Re: more out of my motor

Yes, that is fairly common. Get some pistons and a good shop and your there. 377's like to rev! Definately a better intake on that motor. Go to the motown or bowtie on your 377! :thumb:

Re: more out of my motor

I would look at the victor manifolds from, edlbrock. The motown intake is very effecitve for small blocks, but may be a bit large for a 355 under 7500 rpm. The GMPP bowtie is a proven powerhouse on motors like yours.

Re: more out of my motor

I would deffinately start with more compression, and a better intake. The strip dom. was effective in it's day, but there are much better intakes out there now. There is power being left on the table with that holley manifold.

Re: More air flow ....whats it worth?

No offense, but I've just never been a fan of the sbc edelbrock heads. The BIG runner heads for big block, mopar chevy and pontiac are proven winners. I could be wrong but I like the brodix stuff. Just my opinion.
