Re: Cage Pics.
oh boy, here it goes, think about this, if you weld the ends on last after you welded the back brace and the tubes did bend during the welding process, then the tubes WILL not be alligned and 1 tube could be forward or rearward of the other, thus setting the 4 link brackets crooked or not square to t...

Re: Cage Pics.
actually every thing should be welded on before the allignment tool is removed, the ends are the first thing to be welded to keep all 4 allignment bushings centered and to keep the tubes from moving during welding. the back brace will incorporate the 4 link brackets and go all the way to the end. th...

Re: Diagonal bar vs wishbone??
it really is a preference deal, the wishbone is maybe more stable, and might be better, it is much harder to fit and weld and binding is posible, I add a threaded grease serts to mine whenever I install wishbones.(the main tube can rust) there is no real advantage in my opinion, have run 8.20s on dia...

Re: Need help with new toy
s10's are the way to go, here is one I tubbed for a guy and still used the factory leaf spring set up with the 21.5 mickies. with a set of caltracs this s10 will hook big time with slicks., it could have been made with any suspension package but he wanted to drive it on the street and keep the cost ...

Re: oilpan
it would most likely be mild steel, you could mig the pan also. e70s2 or 6 mig . .030 max wire diam and low temp , you could use silicon bronze to keep the warping to a minimum, tig welding would be nicer weld. bolting pan to a block and weld and wait till it cools to unbolt.

Re: 10.5W - 31 &Ladder bars, how much horsepower can you hook???
do you remember if the car tends to get loose (wiggles) just a bit during gear changes? I always have my drivers pay attention to shift points, this will tell the chassis tuner if the car is needing a stiffer rear shock button setting. since you are limited on the front settings without coilovers up...

Re: 10.5W - 31 &Ladder bars, how much horsepower can you hook???
the spring rate is more dependant on the total weight of the car, and how much weight you have on the rear portion of the car. if you go with a stiffer spring rating you run the risk of being to stiff and unloading ( bouncing ) the weight back forward. with a lighter spring rating and more rebound (...
