Choosing Pistons??!!
Want to run some of this by you fellas. I just bought a motor (disassembled) that was a turbo motor and burned some pistons. The guy had KB pistons and they where supposed to be forged flat tops. Anyway, I bought everything and going to make it a nitrous motor. Going for around 13.5:1 or 14:1 max. I...

Re: Converter Recommendation
WOO,HOO!!! That's a lot of LSA for a big stroke motor with only possibly, one day, someday a 200 shot!! Just my 2 cents.

Re: open chamber heads with closed chamber pistons
I don't know the specs on your pistons and chamber volumes, deck height, head gasket, etc. But a friend of mine had a 427 (not factory 427) that dropped a valve with one of the closed chamber heads. He slapped a set of open chamber heads on it to try and get by. IT WAS A TURD!! Wouldn't get out of i...

Re: What cyl. heads is everyone using?
Running Edelbrock Performer RPM heads right now. They are the most underrated thing I've ever had. But they are really holding me back I think. I'm going to order the new Pro-Filer 210cc heads in a week or 2. Kinda break the ice for everybody else. OOPS! I lied. I just bought a whole moto...

OK, thanks Craig for the vote on CNC. What about Probe pistons? Anybody ever use them?

Deal On Probe Pistons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never heard much about Probe, but this looks like a deal. This is a forged sportsman series piston. I would think they are comparable to JE SRP, Wiesco Pro Tru, etc. And furthermore, I don't know much about CNC Motorspo...
Re: sbc 400
Tony, I wish my digital camera wasn't screwed up. I have something to show you but can't. I just bought a 383 (was a turbo motor that didn't last long) with a 350 fully poured block. I was looking it over and noticed the rear main cap has a dowel in the edge of it. Since this is where the thrust bea...

Re: sparkplugs on nos
8s are too hot for much if any nitrous. You better not spray the 8s more than a 100 shot, if that. BTW, easier to read when you add periods......

Re: Angle Milling V/S Flat Milling
Good News, Good News!!! For me anyway. I was talking to a local performance shop and the guy convinced me if the edge of the intake valve was protruding out of the chamber just a tad, they had to be pretty small. So I take them to him and he CCed the heads. Turned out to be 58cc. But he had a little...

Re: Angle Milling V/S Flat Milling
I was looking at the heads more closely today and my feelings are kinda hurt. The edge of the intake valve is already beginning to come out the edge of the combustion chamber. What in the heck? Does this mean I can't mill them? Got pix ? Nope. No pics, camera is broke. I talked to Brodix and they t...

Re: Angle Milling V/S Flat Milling
Sounds like this is going to get expensive. What about the dowel holes? Angle milling is going to make them not square to the deck anymore. So what do you do for dowels? Wouldn't the same be true for the longer head bolt holes ? Oh, yeah. The bolt holes I have figured in already. But don't know wha...

Re: Crank Trigger Installation Question
Spacing the alternator want be as easy as the water pump. Most folks go ahead and use an electric water pump and a low mount alternator kit.
