Re: Transmission Gurus...a question
In the past I had a transbrake solenoid go bad. It would work fine first couple passes then nothing. When the solenoid gets real hot it quits. Reach under the car and touch the solenoid after a pass. Carefully! Or check the wire going to it make sure it did not burn into.

Re: Nova motor plate--small block
I notched my frame crossmember and fit a piece of angle iron in. I welded two 7/16 nuts on the back side so all you have to do is thread the bolt through. Use plenty of anti seize when you weld the grade 8 nut so it won't gall the threads. I don't know how to attach a picture here but if you email m...

Re: Drag Racing Classes
I was reviewing the IHRA rule book the other night and stumbled across these class rules. From what I remeber (I don't have the rule book with me now.) the letters designate time difference such as 10.5 to 11.20 might be A stock. That is just an example. Maybe someone here has the rule book with them.

Re: winter changes/upgrades
Is your main hoop perfect level on the side? Can it have some degrees layback or should it be level? Thanks,

Re: Roll Cage question
Thanks, that answers my question about where the rear strut bars should be mounted then. I do plan on installing the X brace. The kits instructions have me attaching the X bars to the rear strut bars at the main hoop and the frame over the rear leaf spring mount. I have seen them done where the X at...

Roll Cage question
I'm installing a 12 point mild steel cage in my 71 Nova. My question is about the rear strut bars. If I tack them on the top of the main hoop bar they measure 36" center to center. Where they they attach over the rear frame on each side measures 44" on center. So now the question is, is th...

Re: solid throttle pedal
How long is the SRC pedal? It looks about 18" with about a 30 degree bend 4" up from the pedal. It is hard to tell from a picture. Am I close?

Re: solid throttle pedal
I'm in the process of buildinging a 71 drag racing Nova too.I wonder why you choose the solid throttle pedal design rather than using the factory foot pedal?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Steering shaft question for a chassis guru or alloy expert
I have a piece of 3/4" 316L Stainless tubing 0.65 wall thickness. Is it strong enough to use as a steering shaft from the Steering wheel to the first apex joint? I have a 71 Nova with a rack setup similar to John Heard. I know most quys use chromoly or mild steel but I have acess to this for fr...
