Re: Buying a Chevy 350

Where you from? I have a 350 block that has been prepped, except for line honing, with a rotating assembly (6"rods), good beginner solid isky cam/lifters, and maybe a few other odds and ends I could package up for you. PM me if you are interested. I'd say you'd have to be somewhat close for it ...

Re: Problem at the track...

What spring pressure are you running? How did you measure it? Are you running a power valve? How high are you running the floats? Might be running a tad too much fuel pressure. How far is the regulator from the carb? The 3/8 line from sending unit to pump may be a bit restrictive. What squirter size...

Re: i have a newbie suspension question

Here is a little test that is easy to do that may sound stupid at first. This is a good test to do right before you change springs so you can have a sort of bench test before and after. Measure some where on the car to the ground in front of the front tires. Then grab the front bumper, if it isn't f...

Re: i have a newbie suspension question

My front end weight is 1795. I have 8" 450lb springs. I wanted 400lb springs but Mike told me I could run into coil bind and send the shock through the lower control arm. When you jack this car up,...how much suspension travel do you have? How much of the shock shaft is showing at normal ride ...

Re: Front Coil Rates

Might want to look at your shocks on the stiffness of your rear springs. I tend to like a shock that's valved a bit lighter then what's out there. A long time ago I built a coil over adapter that I could use any shock in I wanted. I used a Koni 90/10 shock in it and it worked pretty good. I bought a...

Re: front travel

Assuming this is a bone stock chassis. Here is what I would do. Find a front spring that fits that will have a rate of about 200 pounds. If you are running stock springs this will more then likely lower your front end to where you want it and achieve the up travel you'd like. Get a good 90/10 shock ...

Re: Front Coil Rates

I think the springs you went with were a good move. I would consider trying a set that are even a bit lighter. Although, the description you gave on your launch is exactly what I look for when I'm helping someone line out a few chassis bugs at the track. What springs are you running in the rear of y...

Re: Dipstick problem?

I've been around some of the fuel scene also. It's been a while but not much has changed as far as the bottom end goes I'm sure. You're right,...those guys do run a ton of oil pressure. They are also not n/a. Their cylinders tend to run a tad more pressure. Now back to the n/a world,...yes the crank...

Re: Dipstick problem?

( We have always ran 50w Race + 15 oz. STP) With .0025-.003" bearing clearance. Wet sump Milodon pump/pickup. @ 65 lbs. @ idle. 130 in the traps @ 8650 rpm. Why so much oil pressure? Roger Was wondering the same thing. You only need about 60-65 psi pf pressure at rpm. Especially if your n/a. Don

Re: Dipstick problem?

I tap them and put a pipe plug in them. But that's for when you have the apart. The silicone idea will work until you have the engine back apart.

I think the pan needs to come off if the magnet idea doesn't work.

Re: Non race car vibration issue at high speeds

I'd replaced the tires first and have them properly balance them. Hopefully the aren't just bubble balancing them. As for the alignment goes. How are the old tires looking as they are wearing out? They usually a good indication as to how the alignment of your front and rear suspension is. I h...

Re: Anti Roll Bar...Yes or No..

If the anti roll bar is already installed in the car, I'd run with and without it to compare. I've never seen an anti roll bar hurt a properly tuned car.
