I had a similar set up in my truck. Slightly more comp. Soild roller in the .660 range, Victor Jr. It had out of the box Track 1's. Ran consistent 10:40's on motor and 9:30's with a 175 shot. My truck hasn't been lightened so the weight should be close to yours. Sounds to me like you're on the right...

I'd also switch to another brand of plugs. The timing should be OK with that small a shot. Another thought is that it will do that if it's too lean. I had a carb issue causing this on the big end before. I would try the plugs first though as you don't want to change too much at once.

I had a stroker small block that came with aluminum rods. I made WAY more passes than recommended. After several seasons the block was worn, and it was at max bore to start. As I didn't want to hassle with grinding the new block or buy new rods, I swapped over to steel. I reused everything after fre...

Welcome to the site. You can open a photobucket account, it's free, post the pic you want to use in your album. Then there is an option to autosize it if you want to use is as your avatar.

My truck had pretty much the same combo as yours when I bought it. It had a 1050 Dominator worked by one of the big name guys. Hard starting, Changed plugs often, hard to get to idle smooth. Changed over to a factory stock Holley 950 HP, Ticked up 3 hundreds, no mile per hour change, less plug chang...

I used Manley 6 inch length I-beam rods and only had to do some very light clearancing at the bottom of ...
