Maybe a little, but why are you worried about that? What diameter tire? I ran a th400 (stock 2.48 1st), 4.11 pro gear and a 28" tire. Never had much problem hitting the shift points. I was usually shifting into second gear around the time the front tires touched the ground from the wheel stand...

I figured I am in high gear just pass the 60ft marker. If I drop the gear ratio in the ring and pinion, I should be able to stay in the gear longer?

I currently have 4.86 progears in my car. I have to drop them because the RPMs are shooting up way too fast in the car. I cant stay in the gears at all. I have a 400 turbo trans. I was thinking about dropping it down at a 4.29 progears.

What you guys think?

Well come to find out that what caused the transmission to break apart was the flywheel. The motor is external balanced and the flywheel is internal balance causing a massive vibration. My motor guy found this on Friday when I had him look over the motor. I had the gear on the distributor changed to...

last friday in maryland is was 102 degrees. The pools were packed but didnt matter it wasnt cooling you off. The water was hot.
