Well what is the total weight with driver and the spring rate. I can say my car is 3170-80 depending on scale and I am using a 138 spring.Hitchcock wrote:I also think I am over sprung in the rear of the car too.

Re: corvette track update....
Oh gotcha. Yeah my singles didn't really make a difference when I tried that on mine. I wound up going with the Strange S5007 kit that came with the springs for like $650 from Summit.

Re: corvette track update....
What about just offsetting the shock settings? Tighten extension on the driver side and tighten compression on the passenger for now.

Re: corvette track update....
Looking over the incrementals, it looks like the car is running right where it is supposed to. Even a full power 1/8 mile time of 6.14, shows a 9.639. The car is not losing much on the top end with the speed drop. You may see about 137-138 speed at the 1/4, but it won't drop ET a whole lot. Also you...

Re: 70 CUDA REAR END
If you roll through the water towards the starting line and stop when you just pass the water puddle, the burnout will be more effective. In this video, at the beginning you can see the water puddle BEHIND the car and the burnout is done on dry ground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KgWjLNiJ62s And...

Re: 70 CUDA REAR END
Roll out of the water more. The splash of water when you start the burnout slings water all over in the wheel wells as well. With that much water, roll through it. Don't even hit the throttle to spin the tires they are wet enough. Stop about a foot beyond where the puddle ends. Do the burnout there....

Yeah it is junk. The valve head got one good shot in and cracked it all. I had really thought the head was cracked from the valve head getting wedged in the seat. I never expected it to have cracked the block like that.

How come so thick? Most windows are at most 1/4" thick.

Re: too much carburation
I would definitely try to find the problem there. 3-4 qts of alcohol will eat the bearings right of the motor. Alcohol will wash the oil right out of where it has to be. The engine will only pull as much fuel out of the carbs as it needs. So to me it sounds like it is overflowing the vents or draini...

Re: Here We Go Again....
Short story is, the car 60' picked up from a 1.68 to a 1.59. The 660 showed a .05 reduction and ran the same 11.40's as it did in October of last year. To me, that shows that even though the car was physically down on power from a low 60's dry day to a super humid 85+ degree day, the car ran the sam...

Scott Shafiroff Racing engines. If I was getting a short block I would get it done there because its local to me. There is a guy out in California, Mike Lewis racing engines. He seems to have a good reputation.

Re: carb to hood pans
I want to see if it worth anything on your car. It will PROBABLY show more the faster the car goes. I had always heard that over 100 mph is where a forward facing scoop showed gains. Below 100, the car ran the same. So with yours IF it works, it may show a smaller gain on motor than on the nitrous.

I'm curious to see if Bruce's airpan works. I would like to try it the next time out and see what happens.
