Re: Converter concerns...
I think I understand what you are talking about now. There is a thread on DRR about that going on. What you are seeing is the converter locking up and loading the engine down, pulling the RPM's down for a short time. If you look at driveshaft acceleration, you would see a steady curve with no dip in...

Re: Converter concerns...
Could be an indication of something in the tune, what are you running for induction, carb or EFI and if a carb how big? I'm assuming it's a N/A engine considering a 7" converter. Has the engine been dyno'ed, and where was peak torque and peak HP if so?

Re: Head nut and washer for AFR 227's...Between center 2 spr
Nut is a 7/16 fine thread, uses a 1/2" 12 point socket. On my 11X heads I had to grind the washer to fit between the springs.

Re: Stall Speed vs Torque Peak for Powerglides
I would be VERY surprised if your engine makes peak torque that high, I would guess more like 4500. Have you tried advancing the cam? And yes, the compression is a killer, and a tighter LSA cam should help it as well. Who did the E85 carb? I've got two Dominators running on E85, and just finished a ...

Re: Stall Speed vs Torque Peak for Powerglides
It really depends on a lot of things, but usually for a car like yours you want the stall speed just above peak torque for best performance. And usually missing the stall a little high will effect it less than if you miss low. My 461 CI SB2 engine made peak torque at 6000, peak HP at 7100, and the c...

Re: Unleaded Racing Fuel
Another option that will save your wallet in the long haul is E85. Won't hurt the sensors and much easier on the wallet. $2.66 a gallon here last I checked. I have an 1150 I built on a 13.2 to 1 427 SBC using E85. It will more than offset the cost of a carb in the long run, as well as a pump and reg...

Re: A Letter to Impact Racing
The issue with a class action is that if Mastercraft only bought name and inventory, they have no legal liability. It would be suicide to assume the old corp. IF you could prove Simpson sold it to avoid an inevitable class action the could be a case against the shareholders even if (probably) the or...

Re: Need Help selecting a cam for sb2.2 heads
Making 1000 HP from a small block is a tall feat, and to do it with a single carb will be almost impossible. The SB2's in the right hands are good for over 900 on a single carb, however without having a professional head porter work on the combustion chamber you won't want to put a lot of NOS to it....

If you read it, the total thickness of all the shims in the converter need to remain the same, the adjustment for small changes in stall come from where they are installed.

Re: Running rich?
If you are at 2.5 turns on the mixture screws it may need a little larger IFR. Yours is probably in the .040-.045 range, add .002 and reset the mixture.
