thats correct , square it with the braces cut out , and then pull it inplace and weld it back , the most important thing in the whole deal is placement and square of the 4 link brkts and square of the rear , so the truck will track and go straight, the rest is irrelevant at the rear behind the axle ...

my question is is the four link brackets and rear axle square to the trucks original chassis,or does one sit further to the front 5/8 of an inch further than the other,, i,m like john if that is square , half the battle is won , most of those formed 3x2 rails i,ve seen are not true to one another mo...

i would'nt heat it , maybe pull it over cold some way and cut out the crossmembers and reweld them to straighten it , but i would,nt heat it on a stress point to get it in line
