pinion snubber

I see a lot of Mopar and Ford guys using a pinion snubber and several people have mentioned i might need one in my set up
is it a must have or a wait and see if i need one situation.

Pinion snubbers worked well on old Mopar's that had a great leaf spring setup, a short stiff front half. For any other leaf app, I would use Cal-trac's.
