Aftermarket Disc Brake setup?

I'm thinking about going ahead and putting aftermarket disc on all 4 corners. Any particular brand better than others? I was thinking maybe just go with Wilwood but there are plenty of others that look appealing as well.

Car will weigh in around 3200 maybe and be mostly track time with the occasional street cruise. Front is factory disc spindles and rear is 12 bolt w/c-clip eliminators.

I would also like to hear the opinions on this subject. I am going aftermarket all four corners also and have narrowed down between Wilwood and Aerospace Components kits. I have friends who run the AC kits with no complaints and they are a little cheaper than the Wilwoods. None of their cars weigh over 3000 lbs, though.

I just had this discussion with a local chassis shop owner and his recommendation was Strange Engineering brakes. He felt they were of better quality and lighter than the others. Wilwood was his second choice and Aerospace the last.

i have aerospace on the front and wilwood on the rear, all 4 piston calipers. im totally happy but i used to have 4 wheel drum so anything was a improvement

I have the Aerospace on the front which have worked fine and on the rear, well that's kinda of my own mix of parts. Wilwood rotors, stamped steel IMCA hubs, Wilwood Metric Aluminum calipers (G body style) and weld on brackets ala Swap Meet $15 IMCA Dirt Modified specials - those work pretty good as well. Both ends are really good at making brake dust on the wheels. I could probably get rid of a lb or two of weight on those rear brakes with the Aerospace or Wilwood kit with the lighter rotors, but it would be an expensive few lbs to fix something that is already working pretty good. I think I'd rather put the money in the motor right now LOL.

Here's another vote for the Strange Brakes. I would also say Wilwood is a close second.

if your stricly drag racing only i'd go with lamb components, not cheap but you can always gho cheap on motor parts and fix the damage later, go cheap on brakes..... well hope your around to build a new car.

I have aerospace on all four corners and they work really well to stop my 3500lb camaro. I do quite a bit of street driving too,so my vote is the aerospace, I'm sure any of these would work just fine though.Chris

I would go with the Strange Eng brakes. They have so many different configuations to choose from. Anywhere from street to pro-mod.

I'd almost decided on Wilwoods myself. The Aerospace and Strange Pro kits seemed to be for light cars and not for the heavier street cars. Last I checked they only had Pro type kits for the front. Sounds like some have used them without problems though based on the input here so maybe I'll rethink it. I have some time though since I won't need them till I get off my arse and finish that minitub job

I like the strange brakes myself, All I can say though is that they look good since my car has been in a building stage for over a year now

I just installed Areospace brakes easy to install and they work great without breaking the bank!!!!!!!! Areo has my vote!!!!!!!!
