I am
Yes they are
Kind of...crapper wrenches hacked off in the middle are nice. Hard to swing a full length
1 1/8" wrench when it's on the ground. I usually back the jamb nuts off set the bars and jack it up to tighten the jamb nuts.

Lots of fast cars running Cal-tracs, they'll work for ya. You might also consider a variation on the cal-trac from Smith Racecraft, it's a little different design and I'm hearing good things about it. Giblin's switched on his Nova and got his down in the low 1.20's with them.

Thanks i will check them out too!
A guy i know that told me about them said he had them adjusted too tight and it bogged his motor down and swears they are way better then traction bars. He has a picture he showed me of his nova lifting the drivers front tire about 3" on a street tire using them.
I had never heard of them before so i was just asking if anyone had used them and it sounds like they are worth the bucks?

Sounds like your friend's bs'ing you... However the cal-trac type bar is better in my opinion than a slapper bar because it allows some adjustability and it gets rid of any rubber in the link.

If he's getting his car to hook up hard enough to pull the wheels 3" and bog on the street, tell him to put more converter or horsepower in it! lol..

He said when he first installed them and went to the track it bogged his motor down?
I seen the picture lifting the left front off the track? Not sure what street tire was on there? could be the et streets?
It wasnt a hemi cuda type wheel stand.

I'm running Caltracs and 8.5" slicks. See my avatar for the results.

I dig mine. I think they are worth the money and the are good guys to work with. They will fix ya up. MY 60s improved by .1 and that was before the new gear. Now I have a 4.56 and we will see this spring what it does.

Don't know if it matters but I just order shocks for my car from Calverts.

Good people to deal with.

I also run Caltrac's and their split mono-leafs and love it all. I'm also ordering a set of their shocks for front and rear....I figure if their caltrac's and leafs are so damn nice...their shocks gotta rock too, and I'm SO flippin tired of adjusting those damn Koni SPA-1's....P.I.M.A. (that's "Pain In My Ass") :)
