Ladder Bar Mod

Re: Ladder Bar Mod
Chris Alston brackets. 5 holes, but i have seen them with 3 and 4 holes.
I still think your making it more complicated than it has to be. The simlpest way usually is the best way.

Re: Ladder Bar Mod
I want to put some of those ladder bar adjusters on my John Trac's.. Looks like they would be handy.

Re: Ladder Bar Mod
Okay, but use Rod Cole's design and not mine. Both a brick and a flyswatter meet the design goal of killing a fly and are thus flawless. Compared to Rod's design, mine is the brick.John_Heard wrote:I want to put some of those ladder bar adjusters on my John Trac's.. Looks like they would be handy.

Re: Ladder Bar Mod
Sorry - wasn't clear. Not sure how one would use your idea on a leaf spring car Billy, I was referring to the adjuster on the conventional bars in the photo above my post.

My bad. I didn't read your post closely.John_Heard wrote:Not sure how one would use your idea on a leaf spring car....
Still, this presents an interesting design problem. If the front of the leaf spring could be somehow "captured" in a piece which embodies Rod's design concept, it would enable a wide choice of antisquat percentages. This might be of value for those racing in a class which demands retention of the stock springs.

Should have been:BillyShope wrote: Don't think it would be all that difficult. The following would be the procedure with the 3 Heim design: Place jackstands forward of the frame brackets with enough load to stabilize the car. If the car has positive preload....
If the car has NEGATIVE preload....

Re: Ladder Bar Mod
Put a rubber mounted bushing or a Heim at the front of the block marked "Solid" and it's great. This does have an advantage over Ron's design in that finer adjustments are available. The price is a bit more time to make the change.

Re: Ladder Bar Mod
With just a nyloc you have a lot of metal to metal contact in the bracket also there is no place for a safety strap if the bolt ever broke or fell out.Looks like a good idea for more adjustment, so who is going to be the guinea pig for some testing? Chris?
Re: Ladder Bar Mod
I would build and try it if I hadn't already had a ladder bar system in. I'm not afraid.
