Nova motor plate--small block

#1 Post by Craig W. » Fri Mar 25, 2011 8:04 pm

I'd like to see some pics from you guys running front motor plates on your small block Novas. I've got my ideas of how I might make my mounts but would like to see what others have done. I've seen quite a few big block cars but the plate is further forward than where mine will be. Thanks.

I notched my frame crossmember and fit a piece of angle iron in. I welded two 7/16 nuts on the back side so all you have to do is thread the bolt through. Use plenty of anti seize when you weld the grade 8 nut so it won't gall the threads. I don't know how to attach a picture here but if you email me I can send them to you. jamie.carroll@talecris.com

Here are some pics of the motor plate I'm working on for my Camaro. I'm converting from BBC to SBC. I carved it out of a Comp Engineering PN C4004 rectangular aluminum piece. Still need to weld on the tabs to the crossmsmber. Let me know if you need any more pics.

Thanks for the pics. I appreciate it.

I've just about got the motor plate finished. I haven't worked on it for a bit. I finally got some motor parts in and I've been mocking up the new setup. Dropped it off at the machine shop this afternoon. Hopefully I'll be assembling it in about two weeks.
