Hey guys, is this kind of quick release hub still legal at NHRA tracks? A buddy told me that this type is no longer accepted and that I must change to a splined type of hub.

Re: Quick Release Hub for Steering Wheel
That's the circle track type, the SFI rated ones have splines. Well correction, I think they might make a non-sfi spline type too.

Re: Quick Release Hub for Steering Wheel
Moroso claims this one is SFI 42.1 approved. I am reworking my steering shaft on the Camaro since I switched from the big block (which had fenderwell headers) to the small block (which has chassis headers), and figured I should replace the QD if I need to. Guess I'll call NHRA. Thanks, John.

I have that style in my car now. Im changing it to a 5 bolt with splined shaft this winter.

Re: Quick Release Hub for Steering Wheel
I like the Strange spline model as it's a coarse spline. The Mark Williams fine spline is a nice idea, but in reality it's quite difficult to line the splines up quickly.

I stand corrected - I didn't realize the hex ones were SFI 42-1 also.
