New lightweight 16V batteries for total loss applications

#1 Post by vphtony » Sat May 02, 2009 8:47 am

Voltphreaks has recently released a line of 16V drag racing batteries, along with appropriate chargers. Having developed one of the first lightweight, 5 pound, 12V racing batteries almost 2 years ago, we now have a 16V battery. We have two models:

Image

5.25 pound battery, 550 cranking amps
Can be used for applications with lighter electrical loads without an alternator, or if you wish to run an alternator (alternator must be set to 18 to 18.5V).

8 pound battery, 1000 cranking amps
Can be used for applications with heavy electrical loads without an alternator, of course you can use this with an alternator also!

These batteries can be charged and recharged thousand's of times (compared to a lead-acid which are normally rated to only 300 cycles). Also includes over-discharge protection, with an optional remote disconnect switch. More info can be found at http://www.voltphreaks.com/technology.php.

First time posting here to try and get the word out. Also if anyone wants to write up a mini-review of this battery, we'd be willing to give a significant discount (these batteries are VERY expensive). Thanks!
