Anyone have anything else to add to this let me know please.

Perfect timing, John. I'm gonna finish up my crank trigger install here fairly soon and this will really be a help, thanks :)

Didn't know to I was supposed to lead the rotor a bit. I have been lining them up straight.
Thanks John

Re: MSD Crank Trigger Setup and Rotor Phasing
MSD has a video on their Video Channel showing what the spark does, that might help explain it better. Basically the spark jumps from the leading edge of the rotor to the closest ground, which will be the side of the cap that it's approaching.

Re: MSD Crank Trigger Setup and Rotor Phasing
One thing to consider when phasing the distributor with a crank trigger is if you run a substantial timing retard for nitrous or ???, you want to phase it in between the advanced and retarded point, and I might lean it toward where the timing spends the most time. Otherwise it you have it set for one or the other it will have to jump a very large gap part of the time.
