MSD dist cap

#1 Post by vht » Sat Jul 07, 2012 7:48 pm

Since I can't get a response from msd, I'll ask on here. I have a crank trigger dist with the crab style cap, I want to put the large cap with more spacing on it, does anyone have a pt no? I think it is the 7445 but not for sure. Also, what kinda wires do you all run with a dig 7 ign? I normally run the Moroso's and I'm due for a new set. Thanks

Is it the Jesel front belt drive setup or stock position? I need to look this shit up too and get a new cap and rotor on order.

I've used MSD wires and Moroso wires in the past. I'll probably try the Firecore brand next time, - http://www.firecore50.com/ everyone seems to like them quite well and good service.

John, it's in the rear, regular location. It's an old crab style cap dist. It's got the plastic disc or whatever you want to call it that is held down with 1 screw that the rotor button attaches to. The screw wants to work loose so every so often I ck it and reloctite it. Bad setup.

unfortunately, you cannot interchange those caps...the 8489-84891 shaft-base and lower housing .....is totally different then the 84697/8558
