Voltage at msd for retart

#1 Post by finallyrunning » Mon Apr 27, 2020 6:06 pm

Have 7531 msd, running nitrous, setting up Retard. Checking voltage at the pink wire coming back from activation switch on carb. Voltage is 11.71, battery power is 12.41,
switches activates msd with 12 V + according to the MSD directions, is this going to be an issue.
Car not running at time of check. But has full battery. Solenoids draw affecting voltage.
Any idea how to avoid this. Or will this be fine

Thanks

That is a bit low, it'll probably still register on the MSD as being active at 11.7 volts. Been a long time since I used a 7531 but I think you can monitor the inputs to see if they are triggered if you plug it in to your laptop.
