Wish it was a bolt together, it needs to go back for a stall change anyway. 7100 is too much for even my combo, and the added cost of your diode will be worth it for reliability as well as the unlocking benefits.

OK, I will admit I don't know much about converters, but I do like to think and tinker.
Marty, is there a reason why a converter could not be built like a VATN turbo???

Where the blades adjust constantly, providing the best flow at any RPM.??

Something to think about

WOW what a concept an infinitly variable stall speed converter , sounds great but it would compromise the strength so badly that you could not use a trans brake. Years ago we did an R & D project somewhat along those lines and had well over 6 figures in it ($$$$) and had tested a functional proto type but the closer we got , the more research and money was needed and there is a point when you have to focus back on taking care of your customers needs and making money not just spending it (lol) and we have so many other R & D projects that this one just has taken a back seat to the others for now. Thanks for the GREAT question , this may lead into an interesting thread !

The switch pitch is "OLDS" news.

They used them in the 400's back in the 60's GM has a patent on it, funny thing is the patent was filed much later.

Great Idea like Marty suggested, just not for any significant power.

OK, I see its been done, I learned something new, thats ok. I see it was done with a change of about 800 RPM on the stall is all and was not very successfull apparently.

  A new puzzle

Marty's not on the computer Fri - Sun, he's out running a race track.

I'm pretty sure he'll work on others converters. He freshened up the Midwest converter I had years ago.
