Question  Leaving off a trans break won't a converter flash higher if your leaving at 1500 rpm vs 4000rpm???

Yes and no, depends on your converter and how much % of slip it has but why would want to leave at 1500 with a 4000 stall? Why not try to set your 2 step to leave at a higher rpm (or foot brake) so it get's you closer to the power of higher rpm. Try 2200-2500 rpm's, 1500 is just bearly off idle and can take the motor to long to rev up, getting it closer to the power band will help it rev to the converter faster and may even make the converter work better.

good question. Converter flash is determined by the load vs resistance and a converter will flash higher the lower you launch until you get to the point where the motor is no longer "crisp". So you are correct about it flashing more when you come down off of max stall , but there is a deminishing point where you may begin to loose stall and this has to do with the power curve of the motor such as dual dominators on a sheet metal intake will not stay crisp near as low of rpm as an efi motor. Each vehicle needs to play around with the launch rpm to see where their combo responds best.
