Not sure of this is the place but i have a 66 Nova chassis car wiht a 461 in it. 12:1 compression motor .700" lift solid roller, eagle rods, holley heads, just a good working bracket motor. Car has a glide with a 9" converter, 33" tall tire and a 5.00 rear gear. I leave off the teans brake at 4600 and the car only 60's like a 1.48. Car runs 10.40's at 128mph. If i put a big pill in the msd box i can take the trans brake up to 5500 but on the return roads if i hit the throttle at like 20mph it will flask up to about 5200. Would i benifit much from changind to a turbo 400? I know there is more in this thing.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Soft 60' Times-Help
if you are bracket racing, leave the p/g in it , for consistancy
if you are heads up racing and only care about ET then a 400 might pick you up, but only if the chassis/tire can take that much hit , we are talking about a first gear ratio of 12.4 to 1 (2.48/5.00) . if it will take this hit , it will make some good gains in 60' and 330' as you will have an intermediate gear 1.48 (2nd gear) and will not have to pull the weight of the car at 1 to 1 until about 500'+
