convertor for a 496
I have a 496 running 6.23 @ 108 mph with a stall of 6000 and shifting @ 6800, going thru the beams around 7000. I think my mph is slow for this set up. Do you think the stall I have is right or should I change it? Any Ideas?

That I dont know, dont seem to drop much, But this is the the stall I have ran. I was thinking when it was around 5000 5100 It was a little more on the mph.. I have ran 109 110.

the only way to tell you accurately whether you should spend money on your converter is to KNOW how the converter is holding the power of the motor and you need data logging to know that. If you have a digital 7 msd they have recording functions. If recording engine rpm is not an option then you have to depend on your converter mans educated guess based on the information you give him

I dont have a 7AL and no data logger. Im thinking on trying hyd oil its thicker and was told it would tighten it up around 500 rpm. That would make it around 5500. Im gona see if its any differant. For the most part I have allways ran a stall of or around 5100. The stall I had made for this engine was suppose to be around 5100 but its 6000.

thicker fluid tightens the converter mostly on the trans brake and flash on the launch, it will still have some effect down track but not as much as on the launch
