Testing strategy bolt togheter converter

Try to understand in which order to fine tune the converter I have.
Data:
Chevelle 2900lbs, 1.68 PG 8" spragless converter stall 6400 shift 7700, fall back to 6950 during shift 4.86/33.5, ET 1.20, 5.35/128, 8.51/156 8200rpm(on revlimiter). Will up date the shortblock so I can rev 8500 for the next season
598 cu engine, 1050hp@7400rpm
When i calculate the finish line slippage I end up in about ~13% slippage

What I would like to do is to reduce the finish line slippage and increase the fall back a little

The converter have 0,100 internal clearence between pump and turbine and I have a 29 blade turbine/ 41 deg stator in it now
I have a 45 deg stator on the shelf, should I put that in and reduce the clearence to 0,080 or what should I do? As I understand a 45 deg stator will reduce stall and fall back but maybe increase the slippage even more with the spragless stator.

The 45 degree stator should make the converter more efficient every where as long as it doesn't slow down acceleration in the front half of the track

okay, thanks for the replay, what do you think should I do both adjustment at the same time or just one of them. The transmission fill up the catch can with 0,5-1 dl every race so it also seems to be a little hot. Have redline racing syntetic oil. It is not a Neal Chance converter but I really appreciate your input.

NOTE If it is not a Neal Chance converter be aware some companies measure the stator angle backwards from mine so a 45 degree could be higher stall instead of lower stall. To be sure contact your converter builder to verify
I always recommend making only one change at a time so you know clearly what each change is worth and keep accurate notes for future reference
