Any update yet i am looking to buy fiberglass bumpers from them . I wonder if i could use my stock brackets or do i need to fabricate my own for the bumpers. My friend bought his from glasstek and he said that they sent him brackets in the box for the bumpers. I wonder if it is the same?

The second decklid he shipped me got delivered ok - that is the shipping company somehow avoided running over it with a forklift. It seems to fit ok - not sure what the body man will think about it in regards to how flat it is - but I think it's alright. For race car fiberglass, seems to be just fine.

I've heard of others getting bumpers from Advantage and liking them, that's why I decided to try the decklid. I seriously doubt they send mounting brackets. Most of the time you have to make those, or use the stock ones. Most people want to make something lighter than stock mounting brackets and make something out of aluminum or other lightweight material.

In my earlier posting, I made a suggestion about using a company called "FeatherCarbon" located in VA.

Well I hate to say this, but if anyone is thinking about purchasing from this company, please refer to this posting on YB, http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showt ... p?t=274615 , in which I again, suggested looking into this buisness.

I know now not to ever suggest that place again.

Just a follow up on this old post, I'm FINALLY wrapping up this deck lid install after making my own set of Dzus rails, etc. After messing around with this decklid from Advantage, I don't believe I would recommend this product to other racers, at least the deck lids they make.

My advice is to spend the extra $ and buy from Harwood, VFN, Glasstech, etc.

Mine's going to work "ok" but I'm not real happy about the fit it has. I think one of the other companies would get you a better product. The old "You get what you pay for..." strikes again.

Did any of you have luck with the bumpers they make? Maybe the mold for those is better?

I know you're having a few uphill battles on this one but, hang in there. I'm sure it'll look fine at 145 MPH.

I really have not seen ANY really good fiberglass stuff for any car.Im talking about drag parts, custom bolt on hoods for newer cars,and complete fiberglass street rod bodies they ALL need lots of work to make them fit good. We did a 65 Mustang Shelby clone the hood needed about 5-6 hours of work and we had to cut the front bumper in half and take out about 3/4" because it was too wide,now these are show cars so the extra work is nesessary but its not just the drag race parts that dont fit.My VFN hood has gaps that really suck but since its "just" a drag car Im not fixing them.
