Well, since the paint on my car was 9 years old, we decided to feshen it up a little bit. Here's a few pics of the progress. I'm starting to put all the trim and the rest of the car back together.
Before
In the process
silver for the stripes
after the we sprayed the silver base and taped up the stripes
Flat black on the rear body panel
somewhat finished, there is a lot of assembly left to do
I'll get some better pics up after it is all assembled. All of these were taken on my iPhone.

Looks great Robert... I'm curious what the black panel for the rear taillights is going to look like once you get the bumpers and lights in - that's different.

Nice job.....
Question for you, I'm doing the same thing you did and blacken out my rear tailpanel.
After you sprayed the black, what did you do, tape it off so no clear coat got on it?
Also is that a 4" cowl?
Thanks
Bruce

Yes, it is a 4" cowl. The rear body panel was painted a couple days after we painted the rest of the car. We used black basecoat and a matte finish clearcoat. There are a few companies that make the matte finish clear. Dupont has one, house of color, and I can't remember the other brand.

Thanks. Pay no attention to the 1/4 size version of me running through the first picture. Lol

Very Nice....
Always love the 67/68's without the front bumper, the cops in my home town didn't like it though....
I kept telling them the front bumper brackets were discontinued so how can I mount my bumper.
It worked for a little......
So when is "Jr" taking over the driving duties?
How about a motor shot or is that top secret?

Lol, I doubt he drives this car, atleast til I'm dead or something.. Here's a pic of the engine bay. It's a little different now with the new m/c, hvc coil, and ignition ox relocated, but you get the point. This winter will hopefully be when everything changes.

Was your car a big block car?
I noticed the heater has the inlet and outlet in the middle of the box and that was what the big block cars came with or did you put that on there?
Very nice....

It was originally a 6 cylinder 3 on the tree car. The reason we went with the big block heater core is because it's easier to work on because the hoses and stuff are away from the motor.

Very smart move.
Those heater cores can be very touchy.....

Hey, I love the blue what is the paint code on that? I was thinking of doing mine in 2003 chevy arrival blue. It looks like a similar color.
