Filling rust pits

I've been having fun getting rid of all the old paint from my dash. Once I got it down to bare metal, I'm finding little rust pits that were under the paint. What's the best procedure here to fill these?

Etching primer then some kind of glazing putty over the top of the primer? Or Glazing putty direct over the bare metal?

If there real small, I'd try a high build primer.

Typically a good high build primer will fill little stuff like that.

Some areas are deeper than that photo shows...

I picked up some 2 part bondo glazing putty at lunch time, going to give that a shot. I've got a small dent I want to take care of as well, so hopefully this stuff will do the trick.

as long as its a small dent the glazing putty will work fine. it's mainly designed for pinholes in filler and small pits and stuff like what you're dealing with. :thumb:

John,

I used this stuff before and it works great:http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FGE-100416/

It cost a little but is worth it.
