I'm getting a rear spoiler for my camaro. I currently have a fiberglass deck lid.

Any reason why I can't just bolt the spoiler and deck lid together?

Quite a few of the 1st Gen Camaro's with spoilers I've seen put them below the rear deck and attach them to the body, not the deck lid. That way you can just pull the deck lid without having to undo all the spoiler strut rods.

John, I think your thinking of a wing, the spoiler I'm getting is the factory type.

Chris, I'm not getting too excited.......but a win is a win, right? At this point, we'll take anything.....

When I think of wings, first name that pop's up is Ed Quay.

He's in Pottstown, PA so while your on your way to pick it up, make sure you stop in and say hi....

Boy one of them would look nice on your car!

Chris, don't you mean "twinkling" of hope.....glimmer is give them too much.

Not going to use a store bought one for mine, although I might buy a few pieces here and there most of it will be home built.

Hey Rob,

I didn't even notice you replied, I didn't get a message stating so.

Did you take any extra measures mounting it on or did you just drill the holes and bolt is on?

I was thinking about using some sealer around the holes to keep the water from weeping in, whenever
I wash the car.

Thanks

Bruce

i just put new screws and washers now is your deck lid one of the single layer really thin lids if so use 2 peices of thin metal strap one for the front row of screws and one for back row and run the bolts through it and you all good to go i hope that makes sense

Mine is made by Harwood but I like your idea. I have some 040" alum lying around I can use for the strips. If that doesn't hood, I can get some 18ga metal at work.

Thanks for the idea.
