#1 Post by 434 nova » Fri Jan 22, 2010 8:16 pm

Hi i bought a dominator online from a guy who says his carb is new but the bowls are different colors i asked him why and he claims holley did that so it could be easy to identify. This sounds strange to me, carb is 8896 dominator model #. Please give some help thanks.

It looks like the odd color bowl has been in carb cleaner, not the kind in a can but the kind you soak parts in. If there is nothing wrong with the bowl I wouldnt worry about it.

This might put you at ease. The processes of chem-film which is the goldish color on the bowls (it's a process to prevent corrosion of aluminum) can vary in color just by leaving it in the process tank longer.

Hope that helps.
