Intake manifold holes won't line up
I can't get the damn holes in my Victor Jr. to line up with my heads. I had a hell of a time a few weeks ago getting this thing installed and I ended up cross-threading some of the holes. It's like I can line up all the holes on one side or the other, but not both. They are off just enough I can't start the bolts in straight.
I dropped the intake off at the machine shop this morning. I asked him about elongating the bolt holes and he put a brick in a tube sock and smacked some sense into me
He said that generally, zero decking the block would not cause this to happen. However, he's had some intakes come in that were just a hair off from the casting process. I'm already using thin gaskets and a thicker gasket would make it worse. He's gonna do it the right way and mill the intake and all should be good.

If your machinest is going to skim your manifold? you should also be doing a port match check as well. For some reason its not lineing up, and if you just skim the manifold how do u know if the ports are a match?
I have done this on evry manifold I have ever fitted and you would be suprised how far out they are!!
I can give you a run down on how its done if you need?
