Valvoline VR1 40W with Lucas Synthetic oil stabilizer.
Sneaked a peek at a rod bearing awhile back, it looked great. Retorqued the cap and buttoned it back up.

Re: engine oil
I've been considering going to a lighter weight oil to pick up a few hp one of these days, been having pretty good luck with the VR1 20-50w so I've been hesitant to switch. One of those if it ain't broke don't fix it things for me I guess. The ORIGINAL 1320racer wrote:It's 2008 who uses 20w-50 oil?

I run mobil 1 5-30 synthetic and gained .05 time and oil pressure still never drops below 40 psi, just changinf my tranny to synthetic royal purple and changed the rear end to syn.......it frees up horse power and still does its job
Re: engine oil
i use mobil 1, it's affordable !!
(it's also mil spec on a lot of in-theater equiptment)
