Fuel Delivery Issue
I took my car out for a spin today (almost 60* today!). I noticed that whenever I was in the throttle, then suddenly lifted, the motor sound like it wanted to die for a few seconds, then it kinda caught back up to itself. I noticed now that I've barely got .5-1psi of fuel pressure at idle (1000 rpms). Does it sound like it's time to replace this old stock pump or could it be something else. We me and Nasty hooked up the nitrous kit, I had 5psi at idle.
Did you check/replace the fuel filter? Sounds like you might need a new pump

I've got a mechanical pump (appears to be a stock replacement pump)...was on the motor when I bought the car. In addition to the symptoms I describe above, it doesn't seem to do this until I've driven the car for a little while.ytnova wrote:The two might not be related, but check the float levels, if they are too high, it can slosh back into the the carb under decelaration, usually the rear one. Are you sure there are anti-slosh tubes in the metering blocks? Also what type of pump is it? Electric or mechanical?
