fuel pump pressure

Just ready to fire up my engine again and could use some advice on my fuel pressure,
I know I need 7#-7.5# at the carb
(1050 Dominator) but how much pressure should I be sending to the regulator or does it even matter just adjust the regulator to the carb pressure?
I have the Magnafuel Pro star 500 Pump and -8 fuel line ihave adjusted the pump and regulator as low as I can get it and still get 11# at the carb

did you adjust the bypass on the pump
magnafuel recomends 25# to you reg.

I found out my return line is the problem need a -8 or -10 instead of the -6 I have
