Re: Painted my intake
Its black wrinkle paint like what they use for Harley cylinders. I might have it powder coated this way, depending on the cost.
Re: Painted my intake
That looks great...
Did you know that they can do clear powder-coat ? You could take that puppy down and have them coat it clear and bake it...

Looks good! How does it hold up to gas and oil being on it?

Im guessing it will run or lift thats why Im probably going to powder coat it.Yellowchevelle wrote:Looks good! How does it hold up to gas and oil being on it?
Re: Painted my intake
I didnt just want to leave it aluminum and smoothing it out to do it gloss black is too much work so I tried this. I did smooth out most of the casting but not enough to make it look as good as I want. I can always put it back in the blast cabinet and start over since I have only $5 invested.vegaracer wrote:I like that. Its something different.
Re: Painted my intake
I think it looks great SC. Showed it to my powder coater, he has a silver vein powder that looks just like that. My intake, shifter stand, and nitrous bottle rack will be done over the holidays. I have a new intake and thought nows the time while it's new.
I hope you don't mind me stealing your idea?

Re: Painted my intake
I didnt price it I figure $100?? but I took some carb cleaner and wiped the intake to see what would happen and the paint is really tough so I bolted it on yesturdayBad67 wrote:That looks very nice SC,how much for powder coating an intake?
