fuel regulator locatio
i am using a holley 704 regulator on my street driven car and need to know if i can mount it on the front of the head or will it cause the fuel to get to hot..the line to the front bowl would be about 10 inches long and the line to the rear bowl would be around 20 inches..
i cannot mount it on the manifold or carb because the fogger etc is in the way..

I have mine run like the pic. The front and rear bowl lines are the same lengths. I mounted it on the motor plate in front of the head and valve cover. The nitrous plate is plumed from the small reg.

Does it have to be up front? Why not mount it on the fenderwell or roll bar tube if you have them up front? On the other hand, some people say vibration kills regulators and choose not to mount them at all. They're just suspended by the fuel line.

You can mount them anywhere you want. I like them up front.

I mounted my Holley regulator on the front passenger support brace off of my rollcage and ran two equal lengths of braided line, just like SuperNova stated.
To me, it's out of the way and easy to get to if you need to make an adjustment.
All I did was weld the bracket that Holley supplied with it, straight to the support brace.

Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

Spib does that car have a wheely bar?
Re: fuel regulator locatio
I never cared for the regulator on the side of the engine either on the fenderwell or roll cage down bars. With as much as we take the valve covers off the maintence the valvetrain, it would be a pain to have the hoses in the way.
I like the regulator up front, plus some have said this method aids fuel feed to the carb on the low pressure side of the regulator as gravity will help pull fuel back to the bowls from the regulator. Any truth to that, who knows, but it does make some sense.
