HEADER GASKETS

#1 Post by 79 Camaro » Fri Mar 12, 2010 5:20 pm

I just got a set of Lemons Headers and i am wanting to know what hearder gaskets you all are using.

I was reading in my Lemons headers handbook they sent and Dan lemons recommends a flat copper gasket with the ARP stainless bolts that are longer then a standard bolt because of the thick flange..

Give me some inputs on this

Thanks!!

I've been using a set of Fel-Pros, the blue ones for quite some time. They work fine, header bolts just cheap Mr. Gaskets - but do pay attention to the length. Just keep them tight and they'll do fine.

I have not used exhaust gaskets in years.

Your best bet is with a High Temp RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, like the others have said.

I have been using the Permatex 26B stuff with never a problem.

Follow the directions on the tube and you won't have a problem.
