What bearings does everybody use and why that bearing?

I use the Clevite tri-metal HNX bearings on both mains and rods. I'm thinking about going to a softer rod bearing though.

How about nitrous?

We used to run harder bearings and after adding a blower the mains didnt hold up well, now we run soft single layer babbit in the mains and hard multi layer in the rods. It seems to be working, it had 10 hard passes on it when we tore it down this winter and all the bearings looked good.

If you have any detonation problems a soft bearing will be better on all your other parts, but they will squish.

Kings bearing and Nitrous, Blower, Turbo all is fine.

Akly motors have a lot of cylinder wash and the alky get into the bootm end and eats the king bearings.
Stay away from L19 rod bolts and akly also.

Alcohol absorbs water, L19's can hydrogen embrittle from even the trace amount of water from the perspiration of your skin. You need to handle L19's with gloves.

So what did you get for bearings?

I'm going to try out the King pro bearing onthe rods and leave the mains alone.
