Question for all the SBC guys.
Do any of the small block guys in here use cranks with bbc posts?

I don't have one, but a friend had one in his Anglia. It was a Bryant crank. Only one he had that didn't break the snout off.

Blower and crank snouts? It is not a matter of if the crank break but a matter time and when it will break.
We have broken then all at one time or another. Blower cranks need to have scheduled life cycle and get it out of the block before it fails.

Any blown motor is going to be tough on parts.
A small chevys weak point is the snout, so if you build one with an sbc snout it WILL break off unless you use a crank support, we dont have room for it, bbc snouts hold up just fine.

The bbc snouted sbc crank is better. Still it should have life cycle replacement time and be tracked. Yes a crank support is the best way to go.
To a bbc/s/sbc only a few things need to change.

He was breaking snouts with a crank support. I guess it just didn't like a 14-71 high helix.

A 14-71 HH on a small block, haha, I love it!
