found a set of .040 srp dish pistons for about 500 dollars
any other better pistons out there for about the same price
will these pistons hold up to like 16-18 psi of boost from a 6-71
rather not go with diamone or je that would run about 800

Do you have pics of the piston?prostude wrote:found a set of .040 srp dish pistons for about 500 dollars

Skirt design and Ring Stack?
The SPR are not 2618 so running 2 bar on that piston is too much.

Re: .040 pistons for 350 blown application
If the pistons were designed to be in a NA motor I would not trust them with a blower even at low boost pressures.

Re: .040 pistons for 350 blown application
here is a linkto the SRP piston I am considering
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SRP-139633/
here is the description
Inverted dome top pistons for your 350/400 small block Chevy.
These small block Chevy 350/400 inverted dome top pistons by SRP are made from 4032 low-expansion, high-silicon aluminum alloy that's heat-treated to SRP specifications. The ring land and crown thickness have been specifically engineered for mild turbo, supercharged, and nitrous applications. Their forced pin oiler provides increased wrist pin lubrication. A pin fitting, double Spiro locks, and a wall wrist pin are included. The CNC-machined ring grooves accept 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 rings, which are sold separately.

Re: .040 pistons for 350 blown application
Not what you want. The 4032 is too rigid. You need 2618's to keep it alive.
I returned your PM.
