looking for some ideas on what cam to run in a 383 6-71 street strip setup

was running a mile .485 lift 300 duration hydraulic flat tappet in a 350 that made a ton of power for what was in it

ran a few blower cams on the engine analyer pro software and really did not see much of a hp increase
looking for maybe cam specs and 1/4 times

I was running a 10.80's with a 350 and the above listed cam in a 3400# street car

Mine is a 383, Procharger combo, @ 15 psi boost went 9.20 et, also 3400 lbs.
I don't know much about cams so I just went with an off the shelf Comp blower cam.

I have 1.6 rockers so lift is actually .613 - lash.

I was running junk head no roller rockers etc.
looking to update to a set of heads but do not want to go broke either
Any more info you can give me either in a PM or here would be much appreciated

Blower motors (usually) like a little more lobe separation (like 112 or 114*) and a little more duration on the exhaust side. Other than that pick a cam like you would any other motor, RPM, CID, USE...ect.

Cam manufacture's can be really helpful, although they do tend to stay on the safe side of things.

Got your PM, I do not mind discussing my combo in open forum.
My heads are out of the box Dart Pro1 aluminum, 230cc runner, 72cc chamber, 2.08/1.60 valves.
The block is just a GM 70's 010 with splayed caps. Also the heads/block are O-ringed.
I did not build this engine myself it came from Speed-o-motive as a long block.

What they do not tell you (but I found out later) is that the 4340 crank and rods are "made in China", and the so called "EXPERT BLUEPRINT ASSEMBLY" looks more like IMHO, just put together. I found several problems, rocker arms hitting springs, push rods rubbing against heads, wrong valve springs at the wrong installed height (only 135 lbs @ seat pressure) cause float @ 5700 rpm, also push rods were wrong length w/incorect geometry. They also sold me the wrong intake gaskets so the first time I went WOT the boost blew the gasket out under the manifold and pressurized my crankcase blowing out the oil pan gasket, oil was everywhere.
I will say they always did replace every part I had a problem with including gaskets and the short block has been together since 2004 so they must do OK with machine work.
I topped off the long block with a Vic jr set up for EFI 72lb injectors and a 1230 cfm 4150 style throttle body, but that would be somewhat irrelevant to you since your talking about a 6/71 roots.

BTW 10.80's is getting it done considering what you say about yours heads

ya I am still amazed that my old 350 went 10.80's with stock 76 cc junk heads regular not even long slot rocker arms and a very basic hydraulic grind cam even made all this power through a set of shorty block hugger headers with a 2.5" collector still makes no sense.Best part was I could street drive this anywhere

I am still very impressed with the 9.20's that you ran with your setup

how much boost where you running ?

I guess that is a little tough to answer since I was running shorty block hugger headers I am pretty sure I was getting a false reading
It would show 12 psi then when I was in third going through the traps it would creep up to 14 psi
car ran 10.80's with two 450 cfm carbs and a 34 36 blower pulley combo
put 2 650's on it and went 34 34 1:1 car definentley made more power but the chassis needed to be adjusted so I never really saw how much more it actually would have picked up I am guessin 2 tenths?
