Holman-Moody 289 in my Donzi - may wish to upgrade to a 351W

Hey everyone,

I have a 68 Donzi with a H-M 289. This season I am just going to do some minor upgrades, but next year I think I would like to upgrade to a 351 Windsor with EFI. In a marine application I need a broad torque curve with a peak target RPM range between 6-7.5k. I would like the engine to use pump gas, so the CR will probably be targeted around 9.3:1 or perhaps 10:1. I would like to use ported aluminum heads and depending on the ones I end up using, I can use my current H-M exhaust manifolds (headers) which are high-flow water-cooled aluminum units.

I am open to some suggestions, if anyone has some good input. Care to 'ring in' on this one?
